I am an evolutionary biologist interested in studying macroevolutionary trends in tropical organisms, with a focus on freshwater fishes. I use museum collections, phylogenomic and comparative phylogenetic approaches to investigate historical evolutionary patterns with the ultimate goal of broadening our understanding of mechanisms involved in generating the spectacular diversity of tropical ecosystems.

Beyond research, I enjoy sharing scientific discoveries as a lecturer and contributor to public outreach programs. I am also a visual artist, trained in illustration and painting.
